Through the PAMELA (Process for Advanced Management of End-of-Life Aircraft) project, Airbus used the A380 static test airframe to take pre-service testing of a new aircraft through the end of its lifecycle. Olivier Mavallon, director of the PAMELA project, describes this initiative, which helps Airbus to develop sustainable dismantling and recycling techniques that comply with environmental, health and safety requirements.
