The A380 underwent numerous safety and performance tests during its certification campaign. This double-deck aircraft completed a highly successful evacuation trial – during which all 873 participants were able to leave the aircraft in less than 90 seconds – as well as water ingestion and flooded runway tests.  At the end of the certification process, an intensive 150-hour, 17-day route proving evaluation was performed – confirming the aircraft was ready for commercial service.
