New Aircraft Concept Research (NACRE) is a joint European scientific and research collaboration launched in April 2005. As part of its aim to design better aircraft for the future, NACRE developed two eco-efficient aircraft concepts featuring advanced wings, adaptable tails, low noise propulsion systems and other innovations. Also devised was the “flying wing” concept for an aircraft that can seat up to 1,000 passengers.
