Airbus officially opens a new A320 Family final assembly line in Tianjin, China, on 28 September 2008 – the first such facility outside of Europe. During a ceremony attended by some 600 guests, Airbus President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Enders reports that more than 15 per cent of Airbus’ current annual production is delivered to Chinese customers. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao also comments, praising the cooperation between European and Chinese industry.
