Air Austral orders a pair of single-class A380s during the 2009 Dubai Airshow. The La Réunion-based carrier is the first customer to acquire Airbus’ 21st century flagship in a single-class configuration – establishing a new role for the A380 as a high-density airliner for certain applications, including the opening of low-cost travel to more markets.
